In 50 Cent’s proposed showdown part deux against frienemy Kanye West this time-around, his Before I Self Destruct (the MC’s 4th studio album) was supposedly going to go head-to-head with West’s 808’s and Heartbreak this December. But now that Fif’ has officially released the album’s first single “Get Up”, this is starting to become straight comical– is this really supposed to challenge the brilliant “Love Lockdown”?
If you love an artist who refuses to switch his style up (even though he’ll claim til’ his last breath he’s an innovator), then Curtis is your man. This banal, BET Uncut sounding mess is just pathetic.
